Conference Report: West African Society for Pharmacology (WASP) Annual Conference 2025
Daniel T. Esuku, a Research Assistant at the DELSU Joint Israel-Canada Biopsychiatry Laboratory (DJCINBL) and a Master’s student in the Department of Pharmacology, Delta State University, attends the 2025 Annual Conference of the West African Society for Pharmacology (WASP) was held from the 24th to the 28th of November, 2025 at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Themed “The Scourge of Environmental Pollution and Climate Change in the West-African Sub-Region,” the conference convened leading pharmacologists, biomedical researchers, and academics across West Africa to address the growing health implications of environmental pollution and climate change. The event also featured diverse research presentations that encouraged knowledge sharing and collaboration across multiple pharmacological fields. Overall, attending the WASP Annual Conference 2025 was highly enriching to Daniel, deepening his understanding of key issues in environmental health and pharmacology while strengthening research capacity and academic visibility within the DJCINBL.
