Among my seven MSc and two PhD students under my supervision who are convocating at the 18th Convocation Ceremony of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, please join me specially in celebrating my very distinguished first-class pharmacologist, Kate Oyibo, one of my former undergraduate project students, who has emerged as the overall best graduating student of DELSU, Abraka, for the 2025 graduating set.

During the course of her studies, Kate was a recipient of the final undergraduate scholarship award from the DELSU Joint Canada–Israel Neuroscience Laboratory awarded to me from from the Canada’s International Development Research centre, the Azrieli Foundation, the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the Israel Science Foundation. Among several life-changing awards she received were the Capital Express Assurance Award, Senator Eferakeya Award, DELSU Alumni Award, Vice-Chancellor’s Award, Chief Ogboru Award, Dean of Faculty and Departmental Prizes, as well as a fully funded postgraduate scholarship.

Importantly, she also received automatic employment in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, from the Delta State Government. Please wish her well for me as she begins the next stage of her career and joins academia.
